And here are this year’s Serata will benetit:
- Fondazione Internazionale Don Luigi Di Liegro This Foundation focuses on community outreach to mental health patients. Individuals are sent by the state to the Fondazione to help them socialize, develop relationships and a sense of belonging to a group. Each day a different therapy is offered: music, theater, art, sewing, photography, and cooking. Workshops on mental health are given in schools by staff and volunteers who also offer a Peer Education program in the middle schools. A Coffee Club for people with Alzheimer’s is also organized on Wednesday afternoons.
- The Joel Nafuma Refugee Center (JNRC) Located at St. Paul’s Within the Walls Episcopal Church, the JNRC is a day center for refugees and asylum seekers living in Rome. Each day 200-250 people, many homeless, are welcomed and provided with many services such as breakfast, hygiene product & clothing distribution, computer skills, language literacy classes, and employment clinic & job skills training. The JNRC offers many wonderful programs and assistance and a safe place to recharge.
- Associazione Orma is a non-profit organization, founded in the Roman area and created to offer support in the healthcare sector and in its various forms: training, prevention, and services, especially for those who do not have enough resources to monitor their health needs. With our contribution they will assist the elderly with medical screening for cardiological, dental and orthopedic needs.
- The Fourth Project is for Patrick’s Church to create devotional areas in the back of the church dedicated to Mary Mother of God, and St. Paul the Apostle (the patron saint of the Paulist Fathers) with new Icons and votive candle stands.

Separate Social Action Community Project:
SOAP AND SOCKS DRIVE for the Joel Nafuma Refugee Center
They are looking to collect all kinds of soap and winter socks before Christmas. “The soap can be any kind of toiletry or house cleaner to be both used at the center and given to our guests. We want to create an environment that feels fresh and healthy for them to escape to and sometimes we run out of hand soap and antibacterial gel and shower gel. These small items make such a big impact especially during winter.” Please bring these to St. Patrick’s Church by Sunday, December 14, and we will deliver them.
